A Decade of Dorian Gray at Big Finish

Inspired by Oscar Wilde's classic story of hedonism and corruption, The Confessions of Dorian Gray imagines a world where Dorian Gray was real, and his friendship with Oscar Wilde spawned the notorious novel. 

For this 10th anniversary special, Alexander Vlahos (Outlander, Sanditon) returns as the ageless immortal Dorian Gray, alongside Hugh Skinner (Fleabag, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!) as Tobias Matthews, in a brand-new, hour-long audio drama. 

London, 1987. As Dorian and Tobias approach their first anniversary, each reflects on the time they’ve spent with one another. From the day they first met on the Royal Crescent to their most recent adventures in Mayfair, both have secrets they’ve been concealing from the other… but now is the time to make their most heartfelt confessions. 

The Confessions of Dorian Gray: The Anniversary is now available to pre-order as a limited-edition vinyl LP (+ download for just £17.99), which comes with an exclusive art print signed by Alexander Vlahos, exclusively here. The download-only version is also available for just £8.99.  

Writer, director and producer Scott Handcock said: “It’s slightly surreal to think that we launched The Confessions of Dorian Gray a decade ago. It was my first proper production for Big Finish as both producer and director and so I’m indebted to Jason Haigh-Ellery, Nicholas Briggs and David Richardson for taking a chance on the concept and on me! 

“Although he’d done a couple of things before, it allowed us to properly introduce Alex Vlahos into the Big Finish family. It was a joy to develop the Dorian series with such a passionate lead and an even bigger thrill to revisit that dynamic for the anniversary.” 

Actor Alexander Vlahos added: “I am absolutely flabbergasted that The Confessions of Dorian Gray has reached the huge monumental milestone of ten years with Big Finish. It’s crazy to think that we started in 2012. 

“I can’t wait for you to hear this love letter to the fans using characters that you both know and love. I’m thrilled and honoured that it’s going to be placed on vinyl. It’s wonderful!” 

This special release features bonus download content including: behind-the-scenes interviews with cast and crew; a suite of incidental music; and an additional short story — Gray Matters — read by Alexander Vlahos.  

The Confessions of Dorian Gray: The Anniversary vinyl LPs with exclusive signed artwork are strictly limited to a pressing of 500 and can be ordered at £17.99 exclusively from the Big Finish website.
