Escort duty for the Star Cops

New ReleasesStar Cops

The audio drama miniseries Star Cops – Conflict continues today, with its third episode, Prisoner and Escort. This exciting space-set story brings Inspector Alice Okoro (Lynsey Murrell) back into the foreground.

Over the previous two episodes, while tensions have been escalating on Earth and the Moon, Alice has been away from the action, picking up a prisoner from a station on Mars. But this seemingly simple job is about to become complicated…

The prisoner in question is Mitchell Kane (Homer Todiwala), who’s confessed to the murder of a colleague. When Alice delivers him to Moonbase, the team start to suspect that there’s more to this murder than they know.

Star Cops – Conflict: Prisoner and Escort is now available to purchase for just £8.99, as a digital download to own, exclusively here

Alice Okoro returns to the Moon having escorted a prisoner, Mitchell Kane, from a Mars waystation. He has confessed to committing a murder on the Red Planet, but Nathan suspects he isn’t telling the whole truth.

Is Kane the killer? If not, who is? And why would he admit to a murder he hasn’t committed?

The answer to those questions brings shocking consequences.

This full-cast audio episode also stars three lead cast members from the original 1987 Star Cops TV series – David Calder as Commander Nathan Spring, Linda Newton as Chief Superintendent Pal Kenzy, and Trevor Cooper as Inspector Colin Devis.

Additionally, Philip Olivier voices Inspector Paul Bailey, and Hannah Bristow plays the Moonbase maintenance technician Samantha Curran.

Writer Roland Moore said: “The Star Cops characters are so well drawn, originally by Chris Boucher and then from what script editor Andrew Smith and the rest of the team have done. They’ve been played so consistently over the years, so getting back into writing for them is quite easy. And, I had great fun with the two guest characters. Mitchell Kane is a man totally out of his depth, and it’s fun to see him unravel – Homer Todiwala’s portrayal of Mitchell was a joy to hear.”

Director Helen Goldwyn added: “Mitchell is quite a character, brilliantly played by Homer. He’s a really interesting personality type, and it’s great to see his evolution. Also joining us on this episode is the fabulous Hannah Bristow, who I had the pleasure of working with in a show the year before; I knew that she had such a distinctive voice and such a naturalistic style, so it was great to come across the role of Samantha and be able to offer that to Hannah.”

The Star Cops will return in September with the fourth episode of Conflict, with the fifth and sixth instalments following in October and November.

The complete Star Cops – Conflict series bundle is now available to pre-order for just £50 (as digital downloads to own), exclusively here
