Whether this is your first time visiting the Big Finish website, or you need a refresher on some of our key terms and features of the store, this page is here to provide you with the important information you'll need to find your next favourite audio adventure.

A great place to start with our content is our Big Finish For Free! Collection. Here you'll find audio drama excerpts which are great introductions into the many different worlds Big Finish explores.

Key Terms

Audiobooks Menu: This is the 'main menu' for the complete Big Finish catalog, and actually contains more than just Audiobooks!

Hub: This The home for a Title. Here you'll find the Latest Releases, Ranges, Podcasts, Vortexes and News relating to that Title. e.g Blake's 7, Young Bond.

Range: This is a series of releases, often grouped together by a story arc, character, or world.

Collection: We create collections around characters or themes which may cross ranges or even hubs. Our best examples are the Doctor collections which contain every release in which a particular Doctor appears. e.g The Tenth Doctor Collection (David Tennant).

Release: A single item. Whether that's a CD box set, a Vinyl, or a Digital Download, we refer to this as a release.

Exploring Our Website

The Search Bar: This has been greatly improved on our new website. Here you can search within our catalogue of releases, and also now for your favourite actor/contributor. This search looks across our titles, descriptions and cast to bring you the most useful results.

What's New: This area of the website provides a calendar of our releases, showing you what has been or will be released each month. With over 25 years of producing audio dramas, you can go back a long way. You can also explore forward to see what's upcoming over the next 12 months and beyond!

News: Here you can delve in to our latest articles to uncover more about your favourite series or characters. We've added a really helpful specific news search to this section to make it far easier to find the article you're looking for.

Vortex: This is the Big Finish digital magazine, now with over 200 issues! Download the PDF for free and enjoy fantastic longer form writing that gives an excellent insight into the creation of our audio dramas as well as news from across the Big Finish community.

Podcasts: The home of The Big Finish Podcast. With more than 400 episodes, here you will find hours of fantastic free content. The podcast, hosted by Nick and Benji, is free to listen to on the website and can be minimised so you can continue to listen while you browse the store. You can also download directly or add it to your library for later listening on the Big Finish App.

Light/Dark Mode: Our site now features a light and dark mode that allows you to switch the colour scheme to your preference. Just click the Moon button at the top right corner of the website.

New Payment Options: Alongside the new website, we have an improved payment gateway which has opened up new ways to pay including Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Pre-Order Now: At Big Finish we offer a pre-order purchase option for nearly all of our releases. Ordering ahead of release date means that you'll be the first to get access to the audio content on the day of release, and also benefit from a pre-order price.

Save money with a bundle: We offer a bundle purchase option for a number of our releases. If a bundle is available you will see the below dropdown underneath the 'Add to Basket' button on the product page, and also on our range pages. Selecting a bundle will give you more information about the included releases and a special price which is a saving versus buying individual titles.

Trailers: Many of our releases have had short trailers made to give you an introduction to the drama before you buy. If available then links to stream and download the trailer are located under the cover art on a release page.

Listening to releases in order: If you want to know what the next story in a series is, visit the release page and underneath the cover artwork you'll see a previous and next release button to help guide you.
