The incredible Tracy family, secretly known as International Rescue, are an organisation set up to answer a last chance distress call when all normal means of rescue have failed. Operating from their hidden island base, they use their incredible fleet of Thunderbird craft to save the lives of those who would otherwise certainly perish.
