Michelle Gomez

The Scottish actress Michelle Gomez gained success with her roles in TV comedy series including Green Wing and Bad Education, before making her Doctor Who debut in the 2014 episode Deep Breath. She played Missy, a female incarnation of the Master, in 15 onscreen episodes, bringing a distinctively maniacal spin to the role. Gomez returned as Missy for Big Finish in 2019’s The Diary of River Song: Series 05, before getting her own audio series. Her more recent non-Who credits include Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant.
