Sylvester McCoy

Born in 1943 in Argyll, Sylvester McCoy began his career as a physical comedian before being cast as the Seventh Doctor beginning with Doctor Who’s 1987 season. He starred as the clownish but manipulative incarnation for three years, leading to the end of the classic era. He returned for a brief appearance in the 1996 TV Movie, then later reprised the role on audio for Big Finish Productions, beginning with 1999’s The Sirens of Time. His other notable credits include The Hobbit movies and the Wachowskis’ Netflix series Sense8.
